Direct Flight Mytilene – Heraklion with Aegean Airlines Starting in May

The tourism connection between the North Aegean and Crete is being significantly strengthened this season with the launch of a new direct flight route bringing Mytilene and Heraklion closer than ever.

From May 28th until October 3rd, Aegean Airlines will operate direct flights connecting Mytilene with Heraklion, offering greater convenience for both residents and visitors of the two islands.

This development is the result of coordinated efforts that began some time ago by the Lesvos Union of Tourist Agents, with decisive contribution from its President, Panagiotis Chatzikyriakou, who conducted targeted discussions to make this connection a reality.

Flights will operate twice weekly throughout the tourist season, substantially enhancing connectivity between the two destinations. The new route creates important prospects for tourism growth, allowing visitors to Lesvos to combine their holidays with a trip to Crete, while also giving travelers from Crete the opportunity to discover Lesvos’ unique natural beauty, gastronomy, and cultural identity.

The direct Mytilene – Heraklion connection is expected to act as a bridge of cooperation between the two island destinations, strengthening tourist flows and contributing to the overall momentum of this year’s season.
